An excellent opportunity for a senior electrical design engineer has arisen within this multi-disciplinary firm of Professional Engineers, with a world class reputation within the Building Services sector.

We are looking for a senior electrical Building Services design engineer with significant design experience within the Building Services industry. The candidate will have the ability to take projects from conception though to completion and will be qualified with a electrical discipline. During this role you will work within multi-discipline design teams but as the role develops you will be responsible for the project management of complex projects for clients in the following sectors: Public, Healthcare, residential, leisure, educational and industrial. It is essential you have experience of carrying out design calculations, prepare drawings for drafting by others, representing the company at meetings, preparing technical specifications, site surveys and inspections and maintaining records to company standards.

The candidate will provide engineering capability to the Building Services Section of our clients Birmingham and Oxford offices, spending half the week at each. Support of all offices will be required from time to time. As well as monitoring site works you will provide engineering support on single and multi disciplinary projects including refurbishment and new build projects for the public and private sectors.

You must have good communication skills as you will be liaising with client, interfacing with project teams and implementing contracts and will have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as within a team.

The successful candidate will have a significant amount of experience in the building services industry. You will have experience across the breadth of electrical building services such as UPS, Fire alarms, lifts, earthing, 400v/230v power supply and distribution, primary and emergency lighting and security access control. MCIBSE/MIEE Degree in electrical Engineering or Building services is preferred.
A good level of computer literacy in Windows, Microsoft Office and IES is required.
